Description of Crude Palm Oil
Crude palm oil is a vegetable oil mechanically extracted from the mesocarp of the oil palm fruit (Elaeis guineensis). This oil is purified through filtration or centrifugation to remove residual raw material, without undergoing any additional chemical or physical processes.

Nutritional Properties:
This oil is renowned for its rich composition of both saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, providing significant versatility in various applications. Its nutritional value is highlighted by its high content of natural antioxidants, such as carotenoids and vitamin E. Specifically, β-carotene (62%) and α-carotene (38%) are essential precursors to vitamin A, while tocotrienols make up more than 80% of the vitamin E present in palm oil, a unique feature among edible vegetable oils.
Common Uses:
Crude palm oil and its fractions, such as olein and stearin, are used in the production of cooking oils, margarines, and fats for baking and confectionery. Additionally, its versatility has led to its application in the production of fuels, detergents, cosmetics, plastics, and pharmaceutical products, meeting the specific requirements of these industries.
